Business Development Officer
About the job
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development/Sales Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying new sales opportunities, and building strong relationships with existing and potential clients. This role requires a combination of sales expertise, industry knowledge, excellent communication skills, proficiency in QuickBooks, and proximity to VGC (Victoria Garden City) in Lagos, Nigeria.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed the company’s sales targets and objectives.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the oil and gas and construction industries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for business expansion.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, presentations, and sales collateral.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and generate leads.
• Prepare and deliver sales presentations to key stakeholders, highlighting the company’s capabilities and value proposition.
• Utilize QuickBooks to manage sales transactions, invoices, and financial records accurately and efficiently.
• Negotiate contracts and terms of agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of projects and customer satisfaction.
• Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates to the management team.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record of success in business development and sales, preferably within the oil and gas or construction industries.
• In-depth knowledge of the industry, including market trends, competitors, and key stakeholders.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks for managing sales transactions, invoices, and financial records.
• Proximity to VGC (Victoria Garden City) in Lagos, Nigeria.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and driving results.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
• Willingness to travel as required.
