Content Writer for German to English Speakers (Learning & Curriculum) at Duolingo

Use your expertise in teaching German to help improve how millions of people learn languages on Duolingo!

We are looking for an expert in German learning content who has experience teaching German and crafting instructional materials. This is a temporary freelance position (no benefits included). All work will be conducted remotely and hours are flexible.

You Will…

• Use your teaching expertise and creativity to develop course content for an online German course.
• Work with a team of content developers to ensure a high-quality learning experience for Duolingo learners.

You Have…

• Professional proficiency in German and English.
• Experience teaching German to English speakers.
• Experience crafting and editing materials for teaching German as a second/foreign language.
• Creativity and a passion for ensuring that learning content is fun and engaging.
• Outstanding attention to detail.
• Basic digital literacy (Google docs, spreadsheets).
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work at least 20 hours a week.

Outstanding Candidates Will Have…

• Solid understanding of German linguistic terminology.
• 4+ years of experience teaching German.
• MA in German, Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
• Experience with collaboration and project management.
