Overview

You will be responsible for editing and crafting high-quality books for publication. This role will involve working collaboratively with authors, customers, and book squad members to publish commercially successful books.

About Expert Network

PEN’s goal is to use successful Explorer books as the starting point for £50k+ LTV book franchises that can secure the top spot in Amazon categories. Strong editorial resources are at the heart of PEN, so development editors play a key role in publishing bestselling titles.

Responsibilities

• Edit technical books from end to end.
• Develop a deep understanding of the technical publishing market and competitive landscape.
• Keep track of new tech releases and user trends.
• Seek customer feedback throughout the editorial process and apply this during your edits.
• Build collaborative relationships with authors to help them to write effective content.
• Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders on multiple projects.

Measures of success  

• Each title should occupy the top spot in an Amazon book category.
• Authors should return to Packt based on their experience of working with the DE.
• Feedback from customers in reviews and on social platforms should be positive.
• The DE should be able to show how user feedback has helped to shape a book.

Who you are? 

You should have at least 3/4 years of experience in an editorial or related role is essential. You should also be:

• Able to work to deadlines

Gross Salary – INR 65K – 85K per month (skills / experience dependent)
