Front-End Developer
We’re looking for a Front-End Developers with strong client-side skills and a passion for modern, scalable, responsive interfaces to work on a number of products we have, each at different stages of their lifecycle. If that sounds like something you’d be excited about, we’d love to talk.
As a Developer at Magnetic Rock you’ll immediately be working on real products which will be shaping the future of education in the cyber security industry. As an early employee (low double digits) you’ll have a real opportunity to influence how we do things, the technologies we adopt and the chance to build products based on modern technology stacks.
Key Responsibilities
- Building, maintaining and owning the product front-end including; selecting libraries, updating technologies, implementing analytics tagging and implementing front-end specific monitoring solutions.
- Working with the UX and UI specialists to implement a design system and component library.
- Championing accessibility standards and validating their application in your work.
- Receive a tailored 30, 60, 90 day onboarding plan with clear objectives and introductions to all key people, systems and information you need to perform at your best.
- Weekly 1:1s with your manager, daily team support.
- Â Join regular Scrum meetings and start to refine items in our backlog.
- Â Be joined by other new developers and Product team members ( all be on a new journey together).
- Â Will actively contribute to an MVP or next early iteration of our product, driven by a clear long-term strategy and metrics to measure success.
- You will get to know what the product is about, who the users are, the value we are trying to deliver and why we are doing what we are doing  (help shape this through technical innovation).
- Â Will build new features and architecture (and may even choose to rebuild some parts of the product prototype already built).
- Have peer review and acceptance test other developers’ code/changes/pull requests.
- Participate in projects to choose technical strategy, approaches, frameworks and tools for your product and future products that we build.
- Write tests, implement logging and build out technical documentation, setting the product up for long-term success and health.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- A strong interest and probably 3+ years experience in front-end technologies/languages, which might include React, CSS, JavaScript and HTML.
- An interest, knowledge or experience implementing and using Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Some interest in back-end technologies (to understand how the web app works together and to provide occasional cover/assistance to the rest of the team)
