Global Data Analyst
Role Purpose
The Data Analyst leads codification, standardisation and strategic coherence of our data collection, collation, and analytical approaches towards increased impact at Street Child. The role will help to strengthen evidencebased analysis and respond to information management needs in line with the global strategy. This role reports to the Head of Advisory and will work in close collaboration with programmes teams across multiple countries and contexts, as well as with critical stakeholders such as the Global Child Protection Area of Responsibiltiy. The Data Analyst is responsible for rapid data analysis and developing rigorous, robust reports to provide proof of impact across our programmes and has an instrumental role in ensuring engagement with evidence of effectiveness across our programmes. Outstanding analysis, synthesis and writing skills are critical for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection and Analysis (60%)
Establish and embed rigorous, robust data collection, collation and cleaning protocols and databases for rapid data processing across programmes to assure availability of rich data for analysis;
Engage in regular data analysis, applying qualitative and quantitative analytical approaches to assess impact, as well as ascertain and advise on areas of improvement in data collection, collation, and cleaning for country teams;
Engage in regular reporting that provides in-depth analysis and insights into programmatic impact and areas of improvement;
Explore and embed innovative approaches, including digital approaches to assist data analysis and visualisation for a variety of audiences;
Assist and assure adherence to appropriate ethical protocols and safeguarding policies and procedures across all aspects of data handling;
Assist in the identification of information gaps and propose improvements to data collection, collation, and dissemination;
Assist the design and development of appropriate situation monitoring tools [considering contextual conditions, incident reporting, risk factors, trends analysis, etc] across contexts;
Assist and assure adherence to appropriate data storage policies and procedures, to protect the confidentially, integrity, and privacy of participants and participant information; and
Provide coordination and surge support on data handling for independent evaluators to assure integrity and quality of evaluations and evidence
Evidence Dissemination (20%)
Ensure enumeration activities are informed by expertise and experience from previous programmes and reflect recent research and evidence on enumeration approaches, including approaches appropriate for enumeration in emergencies;
Ensure excellent presentation of evaluations and evidence of impact to funders, partners, and programme participants, using a range of verbal and visual tools to communicate impact, including digital tools;
Ensure excellent presentation of evaluations and evidence of impact in proposals, assuring availability of proof of impact for our propositions.
Capacity Strengthening (20%)
Provide capacity strengthening and surge support on data handling for internal evaluators and enumerators to assure integrity and quality of evaluations and evidence.
Training and coaching for country-teams where needed on information management processes including data collection, collaboration, analysis, synthesis, storage, and dissemination to inform decision-making.
