Internal Communications and Engagement Officer

About the role
Our new communications strategy firmly positions the communications division at the heart of Macmillan’s ambition to build awareness, relationships and trust with our key audiences, to help deliver our mission of doing whatever it takes to support people living with cancer.
We’re looking for an internal communications officer to develop and support communications and events that inform, inspire, and connect colleagues at Macmillan
This role will be in surfacing and telling stories from across the organisation that engage our colleagues, build understanding and connections between teams and support our communication priorities. You will work closely with colleagues from internal, external, and strategic communications to ensure consistent narratives across all channels and to share learnings.
You will learn and use a wide variety of skills, tools and resources to help deliver to all employees and to targeted audiences. You will be helping to build a culture where two-way colleague communication is fundamental and integral to the success of the organisation and its staff.
About you
- You will have demonstrable experience and knowledge of communications
- You have an ability to build relationships with stakeholders of all levels
- Your organisation and time management skills will be essential
- You will be a proactive, enthusiastic and team-minded
- Your application must evidence excellent writing skills, and a clear understanding of what makes a good story.
- Experience of digital internal channel usage (desirable)
Please note, a background in internal communications is not essential. We are interested in your transferrable skills, and how you would use these to support the delivery of our communications strategy, particularly any experience in creating content, distilling key information and delivering successful communications.
