About the job

Mavin Global is looking to hire a licensing and publishing associate to join our team. You will work closely with the licensing and publishing manager to proactively pursue new licensing/publishing revenue streams and grow our music licensing and publishing business.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who’s interested in being a part of innovative, passionate projects that positively impact our roster of talents.

Responsibilities

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Conducting research on licensing and publishing opportunities locally and internationally
  • Review of external Artist release agreements, feature agreements, side artist agreements, split sheets, and other incidental release agreements
  • Registering catalogues with publishing partners
  • Reviewing licensing requests
  • Conducting research on licensing and publishing opportunities across the world
  • Creating business proposals for new and existing projects.
  • Liaising with sync agencies, production companies and advertising agencies
  • Developing creative strategies for new and existing works
  • Regularly update artists’, songwriters’, publishers’, and rightsholder’s repertoire with PPL, PRS, and other necessary collection societies.
  • Regularly update publishers on releases.
  • Manage all administrative duties related to licensing agreements, including, but not limited to, management of audio files, tracking payment and royalties, and facilitating additional copyright licenses as necessary
  • Providing administrative support to the licensing and Publishing team
  • Follow up and execute projects as handed out from the Partnership Department.
  • Build music portfolio locally and internationally

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Music enthusiast with an LL.M. and B.L  in law or other relevant discipline
  • Solid licensing background, understanding of music/content licensing, and contract experience
  • Strong existing relationships with music placement companies and other potential licensees
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good understanding of research
  • Knowledgeable about market trends, music industry developments and innovations
  • Highly motivated and organised with excellent time management skills
