NCS Programme Coordinator

Job Description

The role of NCS Programme Coordinator is an excellent opportunity to plan and organise NCS programme delivery across the West Midlands region, delivering services in Telford, Wrekin, Shropshire, and South Staffordshire. You will ensure high-quality compliance, reporting directly to the NCS Programme Manager.

  • A current driving licence, and access to a car, is a requirement of this role.

Main Duties And Accountabilities

  • Working with the Programme Manager and other Delivery Partners in developing, organising, planning, and delivering, the NCS community grant programme.
  • Ensuring that programme content is relevant to the local community, and that content builds upon existing relationships with partner individuals and organisations.
  • Engaging and building positive relationships with young people and their parent/carers, and providing effective support on a one-to-one or group basis, to achieve NCS outcome targets.
  • Providing young people with a quality NCS experience, ensuring that they learn community and citizenship values within their local environment, and ensuring that the programme meets the NCST Programme Quality Framework.
  • Assisting the administrator in implementing a sessional staff recruitment strategy, and ensuring that local avenues for staff recruitment are explored.
  • Delivering within the regional budget, by tracking spend, and ensuring that finance processes and procedures are adhered to, within the set timeline.
  • Delivering staff training to NCS sessional staff, and ensuring that all staff meet the NCST staff competency framework.
  • Line management of the NCS Community Engagement Officer, ensuring that regular supervision and quarterly objectives are set and reviewed.

  • Educated to A Level or equivalent

To Be Successful, You Will Need

  • Experience of programme management, and working in partnership with a variety of agencies, to achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Substantial experience of working directly with young people from a wide variety of backgrounds, and leading the planning, delivery, and evaluation of activities for and with young people.
  • Experience of working in a residential setting with young people.
