About MWEG
Mormon Women for Ethical Government (MWEG) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit faith-based community of women dedicated to civic empowerment and engagement. Our resources prepare our members with information, training, and opportunities to become more civically engaged and to participate meaningfully in shaping the world around them.
About the Role
As the operations data intern, you are a data detective who loves uncovering the story behind the numbers. While others might shy away from spreadsheets, you view them as a canvas for organization and insight. You have a particular passion for qualitative data — reading, sorting, and making sense of the rich feedback and stories our community shares.
You will report to the director of operations and work closely with the measurement and strategy manager. This is a role for a self-starter who thrives on autonomy; you will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision, bringing a keen eye for detail as you spearhead a data project with passion and precision.
What You’ll Do
- Qualitative analysis: Dive deep into qualitative data sets (such as member feedback, survey responses, and impact stories) to identify trends, themes, and actionable insights.
- Spreadsheet management: Build and maintain sophisticated tracking categories within spreadsheets, turning raw information into organized, usable data structures.
- Project leadership: Spearhead a specific data organization project from conception to completion, ensuring every detail is accounted for.
- Collaborate and report: Work with the measurement and strategy manager to validate findings and present clear data summaries that will inform organizational strategy.
- Data hygiene: Assist in cleaning and standardizing data inputs to ensure long-term accuracy for the operations team.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Spreadsheet master: You are highly skilled in Excel or Google Sheets with an ability to use formulas, filters, and categories to organize complex information.
- Qualitative thinker: You don’t just count numbers; you love reading and synthesizing text, finding patterns in human feedback and stories.
- Independent driver: You are comfortable working with minimal supervision. You see what needs to be done, set your own deadlines, and deliver high-quality work without needing to be micromanaged.
- Detail oriented: You have an obsessive attention to detail — typos and misplaced data points don’t get past you.
- Values aligned: You are committed to operating according to MWEG’s principles of ethical government and principles of peacemaking.
