Product Manager

We’re looking for an innovative and motivated  Product Manager who will work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that will serve as the investing rails across Africa.

In this position, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and build consensus by understanding stakeholder requirements and constraints. You will be expected to clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to cross-functional teams.

You will help identify, prioritize, and advocate for the largest opportunities, as well as create and manage new efficiency opportunities from ideation to launch. This role plays an important part in our company’s product development process.

In this role, you will:

• • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Work with the development team to ensure that product requirements are understood and built accordingly. Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Explore competitors’ products and come up with new ways to improve the company’s products
  • Drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members
  • Translate product’s strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development
  • Support engineering team to ensure customer satisfaction goals are met Ensure that user story content and prioritization is aligned to the larger strategic objective
  • Use Agile software development methodology to optimize processes
  • Recommend the scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and appraising adjustments.
  • Provide information for Product leadership by preparing product and product team performance reports.
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• • Have a 4+ years of active product management experience
  • Have proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Have Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams
  • Are able to explain features to customers and engineers with technical details
  • Have deep knowledge of every stage of the product life-cycle — introduction, growth, maturity, and decline — and understands how it affects development adjustments Is able to communicate technical solutions to both internal and external audiences
  • Demonstrates track record managing successful projects from feature definition to project deployment
  • Have a holistic understanding of product strategy and product marketing
