Purchasing Officer

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team at a well-established and branded four-star hotel in Owerri, Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a similar role, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement process for all goods and services required by the hotel, including negotiating contracts, sourcing suppliers, and tracking delivery schedules.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies that optimize costs and ensure that the hotel meets its operational needs.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and ensure that they meet the hotel’s quality standards.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure that the hotel has adequate supplies on hand.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Hotel Management, Supply Chain Management)
• 3+ years of experience in a purchasing role in the hospitality industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience with purchasing software (e.g., SAP, Ariba) is an advantage
