Your role at Sketch

Sketch is a product-led company. We’re high velocity and low touch. We believe that great products sell themselves. However, there’s always an opportunity to approach new and existing customers in wiser and more respectful ways, with a little help from data. That’s where you come in.

We’re on the lookout for a talented data expert. Somebody who can dive in, keep a finger on the pulse of business and identify trends. You’ll be on the lookout for new ways to organize and utilize our data internally.

Working as a data evangelist across Sales and Technical teams, you’ll help Sketch make the right decisions with hard data.

Working at Sketch

Sketch has always been a 100% remote company, with our team based around the world. Being remote adds great flexibility, and helps us build a more diverse team. We put respect for each other above everything else.

Besides being remote, we work asynchronously as often as we can. This means that we communicate mostly using Slack, Notion and GitHub. When we need it, we also have video calls. This means you’ll need to have an excellent grasp of written English, great communication skills and feel comfortable working in a remote environment.

On a typical day, you could be:

  • Engaging with department leaders and internal stakeholders to identify and solve problems (including our COO, and heads of Sales and Marketing).
  • Developing KPIs for the Sales team and creating dashboards to track them.
  • Building curated data sources to support company needs.
  • Developing and documenting data products created by the team.
  • Performing data analyses on topics including product adoption, renewal data, customer segmentation and resource effectiveness.
  • Mastering our internal data, being a subject matter expert for any queries and concerns.

Essentials

  • You’ll have between 2-4 years of relevant working experience.
  • You’re highly analytical and capable of dividing complex problems into manageable pieces.
  • You have experience with SQL (we use Postgres) for answering questions and creating datasets.
  • You have expertise with data visualization tools (we use Sigma).
  • You’re experienced with a CRM (we use HubSpot) for reporting, data aggregation and tracking.
  • You’ve worked with Sales and Technical teams to uncover insights, make informed recommendations, and solve problems.
  • You have the ability to work remotely as part of a close-knit team.
  • Your communication skills and grasp of written English are excellent.

    • You’re a self-starter, capable of diagnosing inefficiencies and optimizing processes with proven results.
    • You work within US East or Western European timezones.
