Senior Analyst (Social Investment)

About the role
Macmillan are looking for a Senior Analyst to lead and deliver Macmillan’s data analytical projects within our Social Investment team. In 2021, Macmillan set up the End of Life Care Social Investment Programme. Social investment can take several forms but most investments to date in end of life care have been social impact bonds. These are neither a grant nor a loan but a form of finance which is repayable in the event that agreed outcomes are achieved.
In this role, you will lead the data analytics and research that informs the development of services in the Macmillan End of Life Social Investment Programme at an operational and strategic level through stakeholder engagement, analysis, and system insight.
The role involves working alongside external partner business intelligence and data teams to gain an understanding of unmet need through the analysis and interrogation of both publicly and locally sourced data. You will also work alongside Insight and Performance Teams to provide high level evidence and trend insight to inform the social investment portfolio and drive the organisation’s performance.
To do this role you will have:Â
- Ability to understand, analyse and present complex data
- Ability to use data to inform operational and strategic developments
- Experience of developing key performance indicators and service milestones
- Ability to problem solve at an operational and system level
- Ability to influence, negotiate and think quickly in difficult situations
- Understanding of UK Health and Social Care systems including commissioning/ funding streams desirable
- Understanding of UK Palliative and End of Life Care policy desirable
- Understanding of the impact of health inequalities on End of Life Care desirable
- Experience and skills in developing performance management tools
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Power BI
- Experience of service development and delivery
- Experience of operational planning and performance
- Excellent presentation, relationship, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience of risk & issue management
