SCOPE OF WORK

As a Senior Associate, ICUMS, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing customs and trade-related processes, including import and export clearance, customs valuation, tariff classification, compliance, and documentation. Your role will involve understanding the organisation’s customs and trade requirements, ensuring smooth system operations, providing technical support to other team members, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations and laws. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and compliant operations of customs and trade processes for your organization. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders will be key to successfully implementing and managing ICUMS and ensuring compliance with customs regulations and laws.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing and overseeing customs and trade-related processes, including import and export clearance, customs valuation, tariff classification, compliance, and documentation.

• Act as the main point of contact for ICUMS-related inquiries and provide prompt documentation and booking of shipments.

• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and laws by configuring ICUMS in alignment with customs regulations and best practices.

• Stay updated with changes in customs regulations and proactively update ICUMS to ensure compliance with the latest requirements.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including customs authorities, customs brokers, importers, and exporters, to establish effective communication channels, manage expectations, and ensure smooth customs and trade operation

Requirements

MUST HAVES

• Post Secondary education in Supply Chain Management, ICUMS or a related field.

• Proven experience (typically 1-3 years) in working with ICUMS software.

• Experience in Shipping/Maritime & Logistics would be an added advantage

• Strong understanding of customs regulations and trade compliance requirements.

• Excellent technical skills in configuring and managing customs or trade-related software systems.

• Knowledge of customs clearance processes, tariff classification, valuation, and documentation.

• Ability to adapt to changing regulations and requirements in the customs and trade industry.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Proficient in relevant software applications and tools related to customs and trade operations.

NICE TO HAVES

● Experience or study in logistics, global trade, or supply chain;

• Previous experience at a start-up or fast-paced working environment
