What you’ll be doing:

• Providing accurate, timely and pragmatic legal advice.
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating mutually beneficial relationships with relevant third parties in line with the governance framework and Capita preferred positions (where available).
• Drafting standard governance policies and procedures and corporate legal templates.
• Briefing the Head of Legal) on contractual relationships of concern, other areas of legal risk and opportunities.
• Stakeholder management, which includes a close working relationship within GSS and wider organisation.
• Liaising with business to provide proactive corporate legal support for all corporate activity, including finance, regulatory and mergers and acquisitions.
• Making judicious decisions on deviations from Capita preferred positions, with escalations to relevant individuals where appropriate.
• Contributing to the maintenance of precedents, template agreements and know-how..
• Assisting with internal reporting and ad-hoc projects.

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified UK lawyer in- house experience preferred
• Sound legal, corporate, business and negotiating acumen.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Articulate and numerate drafting.
• Attention to detail.
• Proactive, solution-oriented attitude to resolving business issues.
• Broad range of corporate legal experience.
• Professional and personal integrity.
• Approachable with strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to work without supervision and be able to lead and manage complex deals.
• Experience of reviewing, negotiating and drafting a varied level of corporate materials.
• Experience of implementation of risk-based policies and procedures within an organisation would be preferable.
• Experience of regulatory compliance.
