POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, conducting internal audits, and supporting the financial operations of our infrastructure projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and project-based accounting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
• Review and verify financial transactions, invoices, and expense reports for accuracy and completeness
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis for various projects and departments
• Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and other financial records on a regular basis
• Prepare and file statutory tax returns (VAT, WHT, Company Income Tax, etc.) in compliance with Nigerian tax laws
• Support external audit processes by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor queries
• Monitor cash flow, manage payment schedules, and ensure timely processing of vendor and supplier payments
• Utilize accounting software and financial management tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Identify and recommend improvements to internal controls and financial procedures
• Collaborate with project managers and other departments to track project costs and financial performance

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an added advantage

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a consultancy, construction, or infrastructure-related organization
• Proven experience in internal audit, financial reporting, and compliance

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, Tally, or similar ERP systems
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial modeling)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and Nigerian tax laws
• Well-versed in internal audit procedures, risk assessment, and internal control frameworks

Location Requirement:

• Candidate must reside in Ikeja or nearby areas for easy accessibility and punctuality
