DevOps Engineer at CredPal, Lagos, Nigeria

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team and take a pivotal role in optimizing our AWS Cloud environment. As a DevOps Engineer, your primary responsibilities will be developing Terraform modules, Ansible modules, Jenkins pipelines, Python scripts, and building secure networks in the AWS Cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and automate the deployment and management of cloud-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for frequent and reliable software releases.
• Design, configure, and manage scalable infrastructure in on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) using infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Create automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce errors in development and deployment processes.
• Manage configuration tools for standardized and automated infrastructure and application provisioning.
• Set up monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection and system reliability.
• Collaborate with the security team to implement and maintain best practices and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Provide support to development teams for building, testing, and deploying applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and application performance issues.
• Maintain clear and concise documentation for infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Stay updated with the latest DevOps tools and technologies, proposing continuous improvements for workflow optimization.

Requirements

• DevOps certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar.
• Years of experience administering Linux servers.
• 3-5 Years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, preferably in the FinTech or financial services industry.
• Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation.
• Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with scripting – Python.
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
• Experience with CI / CD pipelines such as Jenkins.
• Experience with Docker / ECS / Kubernetes.
• Experience with git and git workflows
• Good knowledge of network infrastructure design & public cloud architecture.
• Experience with serverless computing architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Understanding of software development best practices and version control systems (e.g., Git).
