WordPress Developer at Medier, Remote (Global)

We’re looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to join our SEO and Design teams. You’ll handle both new and existing website development, create custom templates and blocks, and ensure top performance and security. This role combines hands-on coding with technical SEO implementation, helping to scale multiple international projects efficiently. Experience in iGaming will be a plus.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Work with SEO and content teams to support required technical SEO improvements.
• Maintain, update, and optimize existing WordPress websites (themes, plugins, custom blocks).
• Develop new custom features, templates, and components using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Implement and manage custom post types, ACF fields, taxonomies, and Gutenberg blocks.
• Ensure high performance, SEO-friendly code, and fast page loading times across all devices.
• Debug and fix frontend and backend issues in production and staging environments.
• Work with DevOps teams to manage hosting, CDNs, and caching solutions for optimal website performance.
• Improve site architecture, development workflows, and deployment processes.
• Follow version control (Git) and adhere to clean coding and documentation standards.
• Integrate APIs, website traffic tracking systems, and custom data sources.

Requirements: 

• 3+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience.
• Strong skills in PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS (SASS/SCSS).
• Experience with ACF, custom post types, taxonomies, and REST API.
• Familiarity with technical SEO best practices, including Core Web Vitals improvements.
• Understanding of website performance optimization and caching strategies.
• Experience working with Gutenberg or custom block development.
• Knowledge of Git and development workflows (staging → production).
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Would be a plus:

• Experience working with Figma.
• Familiarity with multi-language setups (Polylang, WPML, or similar).
