Overview

The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES) is a highly competitive and nationally prestigious award funded by the Irish Government.
It supports outstanding non-EU/non-EEA students pursuing one-year taught Master’s programs or one year of a PhD program in Ireland.
A total of 60 scholarships are granted annually across all Irish Higher Education Institutions.

Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be from a non-EU/non-EEA country

  • Be on the non-EU fee rate

  • Hold an active offer to study in an eligible one-year full-time Master’s or PhD programme for 2026/27

  • Apply before the GOI-IES closing date (March 2026)

  • Be willing to continue their studies in Ireland during scholarship duration

âš  Applications without a university study offer will not be considered.

Benefits

Successful recipients receive:

  • Full tuition fee waiver

  • €10,000 stipend for one year (toward living expenses)
