Overview

The 2025 Africa’s Data Future Fellowship is a 3-month virtual capacity-building program organized by the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA). It is designed to empower early-career professionals and changemakers in Africa’s data governance space. The program features expert-led masterclasses, mentorship, and policy brief development. It begins in mid-August 2025 and will be conducted entirely online.

2025 Africa’s Data Future Fellowship for Emerging Data Governance Leaders: Eligibility Criteria

• Must have a postgraduate degree and at least 1 year of professional experience in social sciences, law, technology, or related fields
• Must be a citizen of an African country, with one fellow selected from each sub-region: North, West, East, Central, and Southern Africa
• Demonstrated interest or experience in data governance, digital transformation, or technology policy
• Intermediate proficiency in English (Francophone candidates are encouraged)
• Ability to commit 2 hours per week during the fellowship
• Must have access to a reliable internet connection and a functional computer

Important Notes

• Fellowship runs for 3 months (starting mid-August 2025)
• Participation is virtual with bi-weekly expert sessions

Candidates are selected based on academic qualifications, professional experience, regional representation, and demonstrated commitment to data governance or related fields.
