Job Summary:

As the UX/UI Designer at Habitat Learn, you will be responsible for leading a small team of designers and overseeing the design of our flagship app, Messenger Pigeon, as well as our upcoming conversational AI feature, Study Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and experience in designing technology that is universally accessible and usable by all users.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with a small team of UX/UI designers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and customer success to understand user needs and business objectives, and translate them into design solutions.
• Lead the collaboration of student and staff working groups at our partner colleges and universities to gather user feedback (this will require some in-person events).
• Develop and maintain a design system and style guide that ensures consistency and scalability across our products.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and user interactions.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UX/UI design and incorporate them into our design process.
• Develop and implement design processes and workflows that enable efficient and effective design delivery.

• Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design for web and mobile applications or relevant experience
• Experience managing and leading a team of designers.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Slack, etc
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility standards.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
