About the job

We are looking for Marine Planner to work temporarily for 3-4 hitches, on one of our cyber jack-up drilling rig projects, in Nigeria.

Job Summary

  • Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive operational plans for the jack-up rig. This involves considering various factors such as weather conditions, vessel availability, drilling schedules, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinates with vessel operators and offshore support vessels to ensure their availability and suitability for the rig’s operations. They arrange for the timely arrival and departure of vessels, considering the rig’s requirements and limitations.
  • Ensures that all marine operations on the jack-up rig comply with safety regulations and industry standards. They work closely with the rig’s safety team to identify potential hazards, develop mitigation strategies, and enforce safety protocols.
  • Conducting risk assessments for marine operations is a critical responsibility of the marine planner. They assess potential risks, such as adverse weather conditions, vessel collisions, and other maritime hazards, and develop contingency plans to minimize these risks.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation related to marine operations, including vessel schedules, safety protocols, incident reports, and compliance records. They may also be responsible for generating reports and providing updates to the rig management team.
  • Effective communication and collaboration are essential for a marine planner. They work closely with various stakeholders, including rig operators, vessel operators, regulatory authorities, and other team members, to ensure smooth marine operations.
  • Monitors the performance of marine operations, identifies areas for improvement, and implements necessary changes. They may analyze data, such as fuel consumption, vessel utilization, and operational efficiency, to optimize the rig’s marine activities.
  • In the event of an emergency or incident related to marine operations, the marine planner assists in the emergency response and crisis management efforts. They may be involved in coordinating evacuation procedures, coordinating with emergency services, and implementing contingency plans.

  • 5 Years Relevant Work Experience
