Description:

Job Title: Quantitative Risk Analyst II

Earnest’s mission is to make higher education accessible and affordable for everyone. We empower past, present, and soon-to-be students to maximize their financial futures through thoughtful guidance and impactful products.

We build tools that help people feel in control of their financial future, including:

  • Private student loans – low rates, people-first service, and flexible payments.
  • Student loan refinancing – break free from high interest rates or monthly payments.
  • Scholarships – access to thousands of scholarships to help students pay less.

Want to play a key role in shaping our future at Earnest? We’re looking for a Quantitative Risk Analyst II, who is excited to jump into the nuts and bolts of our loan portfolios. You’ll be involved in everything from production, maintenance, to development of models and processes to monitor risk.

As the Quantitative Risk Analyst II, you will:

  • Be part of our essential Portfolio Risk team. Our main mission? To dive deep into the performance of our current and future loan portfolios, uncovering risks and generating insights. We’re about crafting smart strategies that minimize risk and boost returns.
  • Be hands-on, analyzing our loan portfolio and getting materials ready for big meetings – whether that’s with executives, the Board of Directors, Rating Agencies, or financing due diligence.

If you’re passionate about mitigating risk, and want to be part of a team that makes a big impact, we can’t wait to hear from you. Let’s explore the possibilities together!

About You:

  • Someone with a solid 3+ years in a data-focused role, preferably within credit risk, finance, or forecasting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling vast amounts of data.
  • Are you adept at using SQL for data analysis? Do you have experience with statistical analysis in R or Python? Great, you’re the person we’re looking for!
  • Understanding of loss forecasting methods and, ideally, familiarity with consumer loan products will be of immense value.
  • Experience with Looker or a similar BI platform would be a bonus.

We believe your unique skills can help shape our future. If you’re excited about making a difference with data, we can’t wait to hear from you. Let’s explore the power of data together!
