Job Title: Data Analyst

Location: Ikeja Lagos

Job Summary: The Data Analyst will be responsible for interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques, and providing ongoing reports. The successful candidate will develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

* Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from various sources.
* Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
* Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
* Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
* Develop and maintain automated reporting systems.
* Generate insightful visualizations and reports to support decision-making processes.
* Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
* Perform data validation and cleansing to ensure data quality.
* Provide technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
* Prepare and present reports to management and stakeholders.

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field.
* Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst.
* Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
* Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.), databases (SQL, etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks), and statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
* Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
* Knowledge of data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, etc.
* Familiarity with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
* Advanced degree in a relevant field and microfinance or banking experience is a plus.
