Job Title: Legal and Compliance Specialist
THIS POSITION IS AN INTERNAL RECRUITMENT WITHIN ALDELIA.
Job Overview
The Legal and Compliance Specialist will manage the Anglophone west Africa system and provide support on contract and compliance matters. The person will manage the preparation and maintenance of contracts and work closely with the operations and business team to monitor and protect the quality of contracts being delivered while keeping in mind the objectives of Aldelia. The person will proactively contribute to the business activities ensure an efficient and cohesive team environment while working with minimum supervision following established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provides professional compliance support services in the form of research, drafting and editing of business communications and general file management.
- Performs contract management triage in the form of preliminary high-level review of contracts and other documents.
- Drafts contracts, agreements, policies and procedures and other documents that may be requested.
- Files and maintains country registrations with government authorities and ensures legal documents are current.
- Responsible for preparing, vetting, negotiating and reviewing various company contracts, including clients, vendors, and business partnerships.
- Work closely with the BD team in identifying and resolving all contractual issues, while putting into key consideration the commercial angles.
- Ensure the company’s integrity is protected by making sure it stays on a lawful and ethical course.
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments as well as evolving best practices in the contract and compliance space.
- Research, drafting and review of commercial legal contracts and agreements.
- Accurately review, proofread, and assist with any materials including Contract, PO documents, agreements and other items ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage corporate affairs function and carry out general legal research with regards to the company’s day-to-day transactions.
- Ensure to maintains a proper filing system and manages compliance within the organization.

Person Specification
Preferred Experience and Education
- A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Legal, Compliance or contract management is required.
- Bachelor/master’s degree qualified ideally in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, Humanities, or any related field is mandatory.
- Legal and contract management skills is essential.
Skills
- Strong attention to details along with the ability to discover potential risks the company might be exposed to
- Excellent knowledge of the Nigerian and Ghanaian Labour law.
- Vast Knowledge of General law.
- Excellent use of Microsoft office suites.(Advanced use of Microsoft office word)
- Demonstrate excellent level of interpersonal, verbal, Research and writing skills to effectively communicate.
- Can consistently meet competing demands through effective prioritizing in a result orientated environment.
- Ability to effectively work under pressure in a client-focused demanding environment.
- Able to discreetly handle highly confidential information.
- Responds well to constructive feedback and is skilled in record filling.
