Job Title: Business Development Assistant
We are seeking a Business Development Assistant who will be responsible for creating and executing both short and long-term business development strategies. The successful candidate will oversee the bidding process, ensure compliance with bid requirements, track and prioritize bids, and identify new business opportunities. You will play a pivotal role in expanding YULCOM’s client base, particularly in the IT and web development sectors, and ensuring the company’s success in competitive bidding processes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement short and long-term business development strategies in alignment with YULCOM’s growth objectives.
- Identify key industry trends and opportunities to inform strategic decisions and focus areas.
- Manage and oversee the entire bidding process, from identifying potential opportunities to submission.
- Ensure all bids are aligned with client requirements, legal frameworks, and internal capabilities.
- Track and monitor ongoing bids, setting priorities and timelines to ensure timely submissions.
- Analyze bid success rates and suggest improvements based on data.
- Search for new potential clients on bidding system websites and other platforms.
- Engage in market research to identify key players and new opportunities in relevant sectors.
- Provide clear and detailed guidelines, documentation, and checklists related to the bidding process to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Maintain records and archives of bids and related processes.
- Assemble the right internal team (e.g., developers, designers, project managers) for each bid according to specific bid requirements.
- Ensure each team member understands their role in the preparation of bids and supports the overall effort.
- Leverage a strong understanding of IT, especially web development, to ensure bids reflect YULCOM’s technical expertise and align with the company’s core competencies.
- Act as a liaison between the business development team and technical teams to ensure clarity on project scope and deliverables in bids.
- Regularly provide statistics and milestone reports to management to verify the progress of business development initiatives and the outcomes of bids.
- Identify KPIs and track business development goals, adjusting strategies as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in business development, sales, or bidding processes, preferably in the IT industry in Canada.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement effective business development strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Strong knowledge of bid management, including compliance, evaluation criteria, and team coordination.
- Ability to prospect and identify potential clients through various platforms, including bidding systems and websites.
- Solid understanding of IT services, particularly web development and software solutions, with the ability to translate technical needs into business opportunities.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple bids and tasks concurrently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze bidding success rates, market trends, and other metrics to inform decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams to prepare and submit winning bids.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, project management software, and bid management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in international bidding processes and exposure to public and private sector bids.
- Knowledge of legal frameworks and compliance for bidding.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
