Job Title: Reconciliation Specialist
We are looking for a Reconciliation Specialist with FX and Payments Experience to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-level reconciliations, analysing financial data, identifying discrepancies, and resolving outstanding issues. He/she should be analytical, detail-oriented, and have a deep understanding of forex transactions, payment systems, and financial regulations in Africa.
What You Will Be Doing
- Perform daily reconciliation of transactions from various payment platforms.
- Identify discrepancies, investigate causes, and rectify or escalate issues as required.
- Maintain an updated knowledge of the company’s products, services, and customer service policies.
- Understand the foreign exchange market and the impact of currency fluctuations on the reconciliation process.
- Work closely with the Finance team to resolve reconciliation queries.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Prepare and present reports detailing reconciliation results.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve reconciliation processes and systems.
- Provide recommendations for system improvements to enhance financial efficiency and reduce reconciliation issues.
- Provide support to the broader finance team as needed.
You Should Apply If You
- Have 3+ years of work experience in a similar role within the Financial Services or Fintech industry.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Possess a deep understanding of forex transactions and payment systems.
- Are proficient with financial software and databases.
- Are detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Are fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Are comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
