Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our organization’s IT infrastructure. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of network systems and security protocols.
As a System Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Network Management:

• Monitor and maintain computer networks and systems.
• Ensure optimal performance of servers, systems, and network resources.
• Perform routine maintenance and updates to hardware and software.

System Security:

• Implement and enforce security policies to protect data and systems from unauthorized access or attacks.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Respond promptly to security incidents and breaches.

Troubleshooting and Support: 

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and networking.
• Provide technical support to end-users and ensure timely resolution of problems.
• Document all troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.

System Optimization:

• Analyze system performance and recommend improvements.
• Optimize server configurations and resource allocation to improve efficiency.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

Backup and Recovery:

• Develop and implement backup and recovery plans.
• Test backup systems regularly to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Restore data in case of system failures or emergencies.

Documentation:

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and processes.
• Keep records of system changes and updates.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other IT staff and departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Participate in planning and decision-making for IT projects and initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience in system administration or a similar role.
• Proven experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Should have a workable knowledge of Windows 2008/2012 Server Technologies

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Experience with server management, virtualization, and storage solutions.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
