University of Melbourne Research Scholarship & Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship 2025 Overview
The Melbourne Research Scholarship and Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship are awarded to high-achieving domestic and international students pursuing a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne. These scholarships cover tuition fees and provide financial support to students.
University of Melbourne Research Scholarship & Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship 2025 Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have applied for and meet the requirements for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne, or
- Be currently enrolled in a graduate research degree at the university.
University of Melbourne Research Scholarship & Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship 2025 Benefits
- 100% tuition fee remission for:
- Up to two years for Masters by Research students.
- Up to four years for Doctoral (PhD) students.
- Living allowance of $38,500 per year (2025 full-time study rate) for:
- Up to two years for Masters by Research students.
- Up to 3.5 years for Doctoral (PhD) students.
- Relocation grant:
- $2,000 for students moving from other Australian states or territories.
- $3,000 for students moving from outside Australia.
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership for international students requiring a student visa.
Application Requirements
- No separate application is required; eligible students are automatically considered when they apply for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne.
Selection Criteria
- All domestic students admitted to a Master’s by Research or PhD program will receive a Research Training Program Scholarship (Fee Offset).
- Scholarships providing a stipend and fee offset are awarded based on academic merit, taking into account:
- Academic performance in the last completed degree.
- Research potential in the field of study.
- Additional factors such as:
- Completion of a degree at the same level as the research program.
- Relevant professional experience.
- Refereed publications.
- Specialist medical qualifications.
- Composition of original music (for applicable fields).
Application Process
- Apply for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne.
- Eligible students are automatically considered for the scholarship—no separate application is required.
- Successful applicants will be notified via email.
