The Loughborough Development Trust Africa Scholarship provides a 100% tuition fee waiver for one year to outstanding African students pursuing a postgraduate taught Master’s degree at Loughborough University.

✔ Open to international students from Africa.
✔ Must have an offer (conditional or unconditional) for a postgraduate taught Master’s degree.
✔ Must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement (typically a first-class honours degree).

🎓 100% tuition fee waiver for one year.
💡 Replaces any existing scholarships or bursaries from the university.

📌 Note:

• Travel, living, and maintenance costs are NOT covered.

• Applicants must provide evidence of funds to support these costs.

Loughborough Development Trust Africa Scholarship 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:
✅ Be domiciled (permanently residing) in Africa.
✅ Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement (first-class honours degree preferred).
✅ Show commitment to returning to their home country after completing their studies.
✅ Provide evidence of the ability and commitment to contribute significantly to their home country upon return.
✅ Have a clear understanding of the costs involved in studying and living in the UK.
✅ Show strong motivation and initiative in securing additional funding for living expenses.

Application Process

1. Apply for admission to a postgraduate taught Master’s program at Loughborough University.

2. Receive an offer (conditional or unconditional) from the university.

3. Complete the Global Impact Scholarship application form (this automatically considers applicants for both the Loughborough Development Trust Africa Scholarship and the Global Impact Scholarship).

4. Submit the scholarship application before the deadline.

Selection Process

• Applications will be initially shortlisted.

• A selection panel of senior university staff will assess applications based on the eligibility criteria.

• Shortlisted candidates will receive further instructions.

• Do not apply for the scholarship before receiving an offer letter.

• Incomplete applications will not be considered.

• Late applications will not be accepted.

• A confirmation email will be sent upon receiving the application.

• Conditional offer holders must meet all conditions before the scholarship is granted.
