Baker Donelson 2026 Diversity Scholarship for Law Students Overview

Baker Donelson is offering three scholarships to rising 2L students committed to promoting diversity and inclusion. Each scholarship includes a $20,000 award and a six-week, salaried 2L Summer Associate position for Summer 2026.

Baker Donelson 2026 Diversity Scholarship for Law Students Eligibility

• Must complete the first year of a full-time JD program by June 2025, with an expected graduation in 2027.

• Open to all law students at ABA-accredited schools, regardless of background.

• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.

• Strong academic and leadership achievements.

• Overcoming personal, financial, or other significant challenges.

• Genuine interest in practicing law at a large firm.

• Must not be receiving a similar scholarship from another firm.

Baker Donelson 2026 Diversity Scholarship for Law Students Benefits

• $20,000 total award, disbursed in two installments:

  • $10,000 after completing the 2L Summer Associate clerkship.

  • $10,000 upon accepting a post-graduation associate offer and graduating law school.

• Paid Summer Associate position in one of Baker Donelson’s offices.

Baker Donelson 2026 Diversity Scholarship for Law Students Application Requirements

• Resume (including undergraduate and law school GPA and class rank if available).

• Personal Statement (max 500 words) describing contributions to diversity and inclusion, career challenges, and values.

• Unofficial Law School Transcript (must include 1L Fall and Spring grades).

• Legal Writing Sample (max 10 pages).

• One professional recommendation from a professor or employer, addressed to Rebecca Simon, Director of Associate Recruiting and Engagement (uploaded or emailed separately).

• Applications open: April 25, 2025

• Deadline to submit: June 13, 2025 (by midnight)

• Interviews for finalists: July 9 – July 23, 2025

• Scholarship recipients notified: July 28, 2025
