Job Title: Backend Engineer
We’re looking for a Senior back-end engineer to help us build a high performance, high accuracy online fraud prevention service. We need someone who has experience building server-side APIs using Node.js.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust backend services and APIs that support our customer dashboard, public-facing management APIs, and internal back-office tools, including billing and subscription lifecycle management.
- Lead and participate in technical and functional discussions, contributing to architectural decisions and owning backend components from design to deployment in a high-performing team environment.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, delivering high-quality backend solutions within fast-paced and sometimes time-constrained development cycles.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to understand requirements, provide backend perspective, and ensure seamless integration of backend services with other systems.
Qualifications:
- Excellent understanding of Internet security & privacy mechanisms.
- Proven experience of API architecture and implementation.
- Understanding of Hexagonal Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
- Experience using AWS for production deployments.
- Good understanding of PostgreSQL 🐘.
- Familiarity with message queues.
- Test-driven mindset.
- Good English.
An ideal candidate will also have:
- Familiarity with React.
Our stack:
- Backend: TypeScript, Node, Express.
- Frontend: TypeScript, React, Storybook.
- Infrastructure: k8s.
- AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, RDS/Aurora, SQS).
- Netlify/CloudFront.
- PostgreSQL.
Due to regulatory and security reasons, there’s a small number of countries where we cannot have Fingerprint teammates based. Additionally, because Fingerprint is an all-remote company and people can join our workforce from almost any country, we do not sponsor visas. Fingerprint teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location.
