FIAS Fellowship Programme 2026: Overview

The French Institutes for Advanced Study (FIAS) Fellowship Programme invites applications for the 2026–2027 academic year. This prestigious international mobility program offers 10-month residential fellowships to high-level researchers across the social sciences, humanities, and interdisciplinary fields. Fellows will benefit from full academic freedom and vibrant scholarly environments at one of seven IAS locations: Aix-Marseille, Cergy, Loire Valley (Orléans-Tours), Lyon, Montpellier, Nantes, or Paris.

FIAS-FP is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Program through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and is co-financed by the France 2030 national plan.

FIAS Fellowship Programme 2026: Eligibility

• Open to experienced international researchers (typically Ph.D. holders with a strong academic record)

• Scholars from all disciplines in the social sciences and humanities, or research at the interface of these disciplines

• Applicants must not have spent more than 12 months in France during the 3 years prior to the application deadline

• Must have at least 2 years of full-time research experience after completing a PhD (or equivalent research experience)
