Compliance Specialist at Gateway.fm, Remote (Global)
The Junior Compliance Specialist will work closely with the Compliance Officer to support Gateway.fm’s compliance, documentation, and governance initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a legal or regulatory background who is passionate about emerging technologies, particularly blockchain and Web3, and wants to grow their career in compliance within an innovative and international environment.
You will help ensure that Gateway.fm’s operations align with internal policies, global regulations, and data protection standards while supporting day-to-day compliance operations.
Responsibilities
Compliance Documentation & Policy Development
- Drafting Support:Â Assist in drafting, editing, and formalising internal compliance documentation, including the Code of Conduct, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies, and operational SOPs for remote work.
- Data Protection Administration: Support GDPR-related documentation, including maintaining the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) and assisting with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Policy Management:Â Maintain a well-organized, version-controlled repository of all compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory filings.
Operational Integration & Support
- Onboarding/Offboarding:Â Ensure compliance processes and training are integrated into employee and contractor onboarding/offboarding workflows.
- Training Coordination:Â Prepare, coordinate, and track mandatory compliance training sessions for global teams, ensuring high participation and accurate record-keeping.
- Administrative Support:Â Maintain the compliance calendar, track policy review deadlines, and support the compliance officer in daily operational tasks.
Regulatory Research & Monitoring
- Risk Identification: Conduct research on emerging regulations—especially within blockchain, FinTech, and EU/Norwegian compliance environments.
- Monitoring Support:Â Assist in monitoring internal compliance adherence, identifying potential risks or control gaps, and reporting findings to the Compliance Officer.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field.
- Experience: 1–2 years in a regulated or legal environment (internship experience considered).
- Organizational Skills:Â Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documentation streams in a fast-paced setting.
- Self-Starter: Comfortable working independently in a remote, international environment.
- Communication:Â Strong written and verbal English skills, with the ability to simplify complex regulatory concepts for internal use.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
- Familiarity with GDPR and broader data protection regulations.
- Basic understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrency, or FinTech concepts.
- Experience with risk management frameworks or internal control processes.
- Knowledge of the EU regulatory landscape.
- Proficiency with document management systems and remote collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, Notion, Google Workspace).
