Overview

The Dalai Lama Fellows Program 2026 invites 15–20 emerging changemakers worldwide to join a year-long immersive leadership journey rooted in compassion, self-awareness, and social impact. This fully-funded fellowship empowers young leaders to deepen their inner development while leading community-based social change projects.

Program Timeline

Application Opens: October 1, 2025
Deadline: November 12, 2025 (by 22:00 UTC)
Selection Notification: February 2026
Virtual Onboarding: March 2026
Fellowship Year Begins: April 2026
Contemplative Leadership Assembly: May 2026 (location TBD)
Program Ends: March 2027 (Fellows join the LifeLong Fellows Network)

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

Be 20–36 years old as of April 1, 2026
Be fluent in English (written and spoken)
Have an ongoing or clearly defined social change project with sustained engagement throughout the fellowship
Possess deep understanding and prior experience (at least one year) with the target community or issue
Show an interest in contemplative practices (mindfulness, reflection, compassion-based leadership)
Commit to full participation (approx. 12 hours/month) in learning sessions, coaching, and project work
Be available for the Contemplative Leadership Assembly in May 2026 (travel, meals, and lodging covered by DLF)
