GREAT Scholarships 2026/2027: £10,000 UK Government–Funded Awards for International Postgraduate Students 

Overview

The GREAT Scholarships programme offers international students the opportunity to receive £10,000 towards tuition fees for one-year taught postgraduate (Master’s) programmes in the UK. The scheme is jointly funded by the UK Government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and participating UK universities.

For the 2026/2027 academic year, over 140 scholarships are available across 60+ universities in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Eligible Countries

Students must be citizens of one of the following countries:

Bangladesh, China, Egypt, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be a citizen of an eligible country

• Hold an offer for a one-year taught postgraduate course at a participating UK university

• Meet the academic and English language requirements of the chosen institution

• Be willing to act as a GREAT ambassador and engage in networking activities

2. Select a participating UK university and an eligible course

3. Apply directly through the university’s scholarship process
