BrenCare Foundation is recruiting young professionals for three paid internship positions across Human Resources & Compliance, Programme Management, and Communications & Content.

The opportunities are suitable for individuals interested in gaining practical experience, receiving mentorship, and building their professional skills while contributing to social-impact programmes focused on girls and young people.

Available Positions

1. HR & Compliance Intern

Location: Virtual

The intern will support the organisation’s HR, compliance, governance and administrative systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of HR and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Maintain staff, volunteer and intern records.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Assist with organisational compliance and documentation.
  • Support the development and review of policies, including safeguarding and codes of conduct.
  • Maintain compliance and reporting calendars.
  • Support governance and institutional documentation.
  • Assist with systems that strengthen organisational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Relevant internship, volunteer or work experience in HR, administration, compliance or the nonprofit sector is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in HR, compliance, nonprofit governance and organisational development.

2. Programmes Manager Intern

Location: Virtual

The intern will support the development, coordination and implementation of BrenCare Foundation’s programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Research community needs and emerging issues affecting girls and young people.
  • Develop project ideas and concepts aligned with BrenCare’s programmes and objectives.
  • Support the development of concept notes, programme frameworks and implementation plans.
  • Contribute to programme calendars and portfolio development.
  • Support programme budgeting and resource planning.
  • Develop basic monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks.
  • Identify potential programmes and opportunities.
  • Coordinate programme implementation.
  • Document programme outcomes, lessons and impact.
  • Support programmes contributing to sustainable development and relevant SDGs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Project Management, Education, International Relations or a related field.
  • Experience in programme coordination, community engagement, research, volunteering or social-impact initiatives is an advantage.
  • Strong research, writing, planning and organisational skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Interest in girls, women, young people, social impact and programme development.
  • Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.

3. Communications & Content Intern

Location: Lagos / Hybrid

The intern will support BrenCare’s communications, storytelling and digital presence while helping document and communicate the organisation’s programmes and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the organisation’s communications strategy.
  • Develop and manage content calendars.
  • Create engaging content for social media and digital platforms.
  • Support photography, videography, graphic design and short-form video production.
  • Document programmes, stories and impact.
  • Develop stories amplifying the voices of girls and young people.
  • Support digital campaigns and advocacy communications.
  • Assist with website and newsletter content.
  • Maintain consistent branding and messaging.
  • Track content performance and digital engagement.
  • Support communications for partnerships, campaigns and organisational milestones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mass Communication, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media or a related field.
  • Experience creating social media, digital or multimedia content is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Canva, CapCut or similar content-creation tools is an advantage.
  • Strong writing, storytelling and visual communication skills.
  • Interest in storytelling, social impact and digital communications.
  • Knowledge of social media management and content analytics is an advantage.
