The Allan and Nesta Ferguson Commonwealth Scholarship supports talented international students from eligible Commonwealth countries who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in development-focused fields at the University of East Anglia (UEA). This scholarship is designed to remove financial barriers for students committed to contributing to sustainable development and global change.

Eligibility

Applicants must:
– Be nationals or permanent residents of specified eligible Commonwealth countries
– Hold an offer to study one of UEA’s eligible full-time postgraduate programmes
– Demonstrate genuine financial need
– Meet academic entry requirements for their chosen course
– Not be receiving any other scholarships or awards

Eligible courses:
– MSc Climate Change and Global Development
– MSc Environment and Global Development
– MA Agriculture and Rural Development

Eligible regions include Africa, South Asia, the Caribbean, the Pacific, and other listed Commonwealth countries.

Benefits

The scholarship provides full financial support, including:
– Full international tuition fees (valued at £22,500)
– Maintenance grant of £16,500 for living expenses
– Warm clothing allowance of £534
Total value: Approximately £39,000 for one academic year.
