A*STAR ACIS PhD Scholarship 2025: Overview
The A*STAR Computing and Information Science (ACIS) Scholarship is a prestigious, fully funded opportunity for talented individuals who aspire to pursue a PhD in Computing and Information Science (CIS) disciplines at one of Singapore’s autonomous universities. The programme is designed to cultivate a new generation of CIS researchers who will contribute to Singapore’s innovation ecosystem in academia, industry R&D, technology enterprises, and start-ups.
Scholars will engage in advanced research in areas such as deep learning for healthcare, data analytics, machine learning, and simulation modelling. The scholarship also offers a 12-month overseas research attachment and a pathway to apply for the A*STAR International Fellowship (AIF) for post-doctoral studies.
A*STAR ACIS PhD Scholarship 2025: Eligibility
Applicants must:

Be Singaporeans or other nationals (non-Singaporeans must have studied or be studying at a Singapore autonomous university).

Hold or be on track to obtain at least a Second Upper-Class Honours (2:1) degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

Be in the final year of undergraduate study or already enrolled in a PhD programme.

Secure admission to a PhD programme at a Singapore autonomous university.

Demonstrate strong interest in a research career in CIS (industry R&D, academia, or tech enterprises).
Mid-Term Applicants (additional eligibility):

Must have completed at least 1 semester of PhD studies at a Singapore autonomous university.

Have excellent academic standing and research potential/achievements.

One of the two academic referees must be the current university supervisor.
A*STAR ACIS PhD Scholarship 2025: Benefits
Successful applicants will receive support for up to 4 years, including:

Full tuition fees

Monthly stipend

Book allowance

Computer allowance
-
Conference allowance

Thesis allowance
-
Support for overseas research attachment (up to 12 months)
Mid-Term Scholars will receive the same benefits as full-term awardees, including retrospective reimbursement of tuition fees and other compulsory charges from Year 1 onward.

Application Process

Apply for admission to a PhD programme at a Singapore autonomous university.

Prepare academic transcripts, proof of degree (or expected degree), research statement, and referee details.
