Australia Awards Africa Scholarships 2025 Overview

The Australia Awards Scholarships are fully funded postgraduate scholarships provided by the Australian Government for eligible African students. These scholarships support individuals who want to develop skills and leadership in key sectors to drive change in their home countries.

Australia Awards Africa Scholarships 2025 Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be a citizen and resident of an eligible African country.
• Be at least 25 years old by February 1, 2026.
• Have at least five years of postgraduate work experience in a related field.
• Be currently employed at the time of applying.
• Hold a recognized undergraduate degree equivalent to an Australian undergraduate qualification.
• Not hold or be currently undertaking a Master’s degree.
• Not have previously received a long-term Australia Award.
• Francophone and Lusophone applicants must meet English language requirements:
  • IELTS: Minimum 6.5 (no band below 6.0).
  • TOEFL iBT: Minimum 84 (at least 21 in all subtests).
  • PTE Academic: Overall 58 (no skill score below 50).

Australia Awards Africa Scholarships 2025 Application Process

1. Apply online via Australia Awards Africa.
2. Submit all required documents, including:
   • Passport (Proof of Citizenship).
   • Undergraduate Degree Certificate & Transcript.
   • Curriculum Vitae (CV).
   • Employer Referee Report.
   • Academic Referee Report.
   • English language test certificate (if applicable).
3. Shortlisted candidates will undergo:
   • Eligibility check.
   • Interview assessment based on:
     • Academic competence.
     • Potential contribution to development.
     • Leadership attributes and relevant work experience.
4. Final results will be announced in August 2025.
