BackPack-Excellence Scholarship for Women 2025 Overview

The Backpack-Excellence Scholarship for Women is a prestigious opportunity designed to support high-potential women who have faced financial, personal, or professional barriers in pursuing an MBA. Offered by the Backpack Foundation, this scholarship empowers women to become impactful leaders in business, public life, and beyond through a fully funded MBA program at IMD Business School in Switzerland.

BackPack-Excellence Scholarship for Women 2025 Eligibility

• Women who have experienced obstacles such as financial constraints, family responsibilities, or career disruptions

• Demonstrated leadership potential

• Applicants must not be sponsored by their company

• Open only to those applying to the IMD MBA program

Application Requirements

All application materials must be submitted through the IMD MBA admissions application form by 15 July.

Required components include:

1. 500-word essay answering:
   “What pressing challenge, whether in your community or more broadly, are you most passionate about addressing? How do you think a BackPack-supported MBA at IMD will enable you to contribute to addressing that challenge?”

2. 90–120 second video describing a moment when you demonstrated one or more of the BackPack values – Share, Dare, Care.

3. Participation in a Backpack assessment if shortlisted

4. You may apply for multiple IMD scholarships, but only one can be awarded, and scholarships are not available to company-sponsored applicants
