The Biomedicine Merit Scholarship is awarded by the School of Biomedical Sciences to exceptional international students commencing the Bachelor of Biomedicine. This scholarship aims to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds and recognizes academic merit and personal circumstances.

Biomedicine Merit Scholarship 2025 at The University of Melbourne Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand and not a permanent resident of Australia.

• Have applied for and meet the entry requirements for the Bachelor of Biomedicine.

• Be commencing undergraduate studies (future study) in the Health field.

Biomedicine Merit Scholarship 2025 at The University of Melbourne Benefits

• A one-off payment of up to $5,000 AUD.

• Payment is made in April (for start-year intake) or September (for mid-year intake).

Application Requirements

• Submit a completed application form.

• Include a personal statement outlining any compassionate or compelling circumstances that may have affected academic performance.

Selection Criteria

• Applicants are ranked based on their entry score and the quality of their personal statement.

• Consideration is also given to other scholarships or awards already received by the applicant.

Restrictions

• The scholarship cannot be deferred to the following year.

• Only available for future study; current students are not eligible.
