Bradford Futures Scholarship 2025: Overview

The University of Bradford is offering the Bradford Futures Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year, designed to support deserving home-fee-paying undergraduate students. This scholarship aims to assist students from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds, as part of the University’s Widening Participation Plan.

The scholarship provides £1,500 per year (up to £6,000 for a 4-year program) as a cash payment directly to successful applicants.

Eligibility

To qualify for the Bradford Futures Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a new, full-time undergraduate student (first degree only).

• Be classified as a home-fee-paying student.

• Be in Year 0 (Foundation Year) or Year 1 of their undergraduate program.

In addition, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• From a low participation area (POLAR4 Quintile 1 or 2).

• Have a low household income or low socioeconomic status.

• Identify as BAME (Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic).

• Be disabled.

• Be a young carer.

• Be a care leaver.

• Be a refugee or asylum seeker (not already holding a University-specific scholarship, e.g., Sanctuary Scholarship).

• Be estranged from parents.

• Be an adult learner (aged 25 or above).

Benefits

• £1,500 per year for the duration of your course (maximum of 4 years).

• Paid directly as a cash award to scholarship winners.

• May be combined with other awards such as:

  • The Undergraduate Bursary

  • The Academic Excellence Scholarship

Eligible Courses

All full-time undergraduate programs at the University of Bradford are eligible for this scholarship.

Note:

• Applicants are encouraged to apply for Student Finance before applying for the scholarship.

• This is a competitive scholarship, and not all applicants will be selected.
