Call for Applications: Solutions Journalism West Africa Fellowship 2025 Overview

Nigeria Health Watch invites applications for the Solutions Journalism West Africa Fellowship, a four-month training and mentorship program aimed at improving solutions-oriented health reporting across West Africa. This initiative is part of the broader Solutions Journalism Africa Initiative (SJAI) and will empower selected journalists to tell impactful, evidence-based stories focused on health and development issues.

Call for Applications: Solutions Journalism West Africa Fellowship 2025 Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Reside in a West African country

• Possess strong investigative, storytelling, and research skills

• Have at least three years of journalism experience (exceptional early-career journalists may be considered)

• Be affiliated with a radio, TV, or digital media outlet (freelancers must submit a support letter from a reputable platform willing to publish or broadcast their stories)

• Show experience in solutions-focused reporting

• Provide a letter of commitment from their affiliated media organization

• Be new to the Solutions Journalism Africa Initiative (SJAI)

• Be fluent in English, as all fellowship activities will be conducted in English

• Be willing to participate in the entire program, including workshops, mentorship sessions, and timely story submissions
