Chevening Scholarships 2026: Overview
The Chevening Scholarship is the UK government’s global award programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations. It offers outstanding emerging leaders the chance to pursue a fully funded one-year master’s degree at any UK university.
Chevening is designed to develop future global leaders and changemakers by equipping scholars with knowledge, networks, and lasting experiences in the UK.
Chevening Scholarships 2026: Eligibility
Applicants must:

Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country.

Return to their home country for at least two years after the scholarship ends.

Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to at least an upper second-class (2:1) honours degree.

Have a minimum of two years’ work experience.
-
Apply to three eligible UK master’s programmes and secure an unconditional offer from one by 9 July 2026.

Be willing to live and study full-time in the UK.

Application Requirements
Applicants must submit:

Online application form (via Chevening portal).

Academic transcripts and certificates.

Two professional or academic references.

Personal statement essays demonstrating leadership, networking, and career plans.

Proof of English language proficiency (if required by chosen university).

Conditional or unconditional offer from at least one UK university course by July 2026.

Chevening Scholars are chosen based on:
