Curtin University RTP Scholarships for Higher Degree by Research (HDR) 2025–2026: Overview

The Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships at Curtin University are offered to both domestic and international students pursuing a Higher Degree by Research (HDR). These scholarships, funded by the Australian Government, cover tuition fees and provide a living stipend. Applicants must obtain an Invitation to Apply from a registered Curtin supervisor before applying.

• EOI Submission Window: 1 July – 18 August 2025

• Application Deadline: 31 October 2025

• Scholarship Outcomes Announced: November 2025

• Enrolment Deadline for New Students: 31 March 2026

• Start Date for Current Students: 1 January 2026

Scholarship Categories

• Doctoral Research Degree

• Master of Research Degree

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to current and prospective domestic and international students

• Must meet Curtin’s HDR entry requirements

• Must obtain an Invitation to Apply from a Curtin supervisor

• Current HDR students must:

  • Not be receiving a base stipend

  • Have support from their supervisor

  • Maintain Good Standing

  • Have less than 18 months of full-time enrolment by July 1

Documents Required

• Expression of Interest (EOI) to the project lead or supervisor

• Admission application

• Two referee reports (recommended)

• Academic transcripts and other HDR program entry documents

Important Notes

• Only one project nomination is allowed per applicant

• Stipend rate follows the Australian Government RTP guidelines

• Scholarships are awarded based on a competitive ranking process

• CHESSN will be issued and managed by Curtin for both domestic and international students

Selection Process

• Applications are ranked centrally after the supervisor nomination

• Scholarships are awarded by a selection committee based on merit
