Overview
The Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) at ETH Zurich, one of the world’s top science and technology universities, provides full financial and academic support to outstanding students pursuing a Master’s degree. This prestigious programme covers tuition, living expenses, and mentorship, helping future innovators thrive in a world-class academic environment.
Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must:

Be applying for a Master’s degree (not a MAS) at ETH Zurich.

Have achieved top 10% results (Grade A) in their Bachelor’s programme.

Be reachable by phone for possible interviews in February.

Not already hold or be enrolled in a Master’s degree at ETH Zurich.
Scholarship Benefits

Full living and study expenses of CHF 12,000 per semester.

Tuition fee waiver for the entire programme duration (3–4 semesters).

Mentorship and networking through the ETH Foundation.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit all required Master’s admission documents plus:

A pre-proposal for their Master’s thesis (self-written using proper scientific citation).

Contact details of two referees (professors) if references are not part of the programme’s admission process.
Selection Process

About 60 scholarships will be awarded for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Applications are reviewed by the respective Master’s Admissions Committees.

Final decisions are made by the Rector of ETH Zurich and communicated by the end of March 2026.

Scholarship Duration
Covers the entire regular duration of the Master’s programme (3–4 semesters).
