Florida International University (FIU) awards merit-based scholarships to high-achieving, first-time-in-college (FTIC) students. All eligible applicants are automatically considered—no separate scholarship application is required.

Important Deadlines for Scholarship Consideration

For Florida Residents

• Application Deadline: November 3, 2025

For Non-Florida Residents

• Application Deadline: December 17, 2025

Required Steps

To be considered for FIU merit scholarships, applicants must:

1. Submit a complete freshman admission application (including application fee or waiver).

2. Provide official SAT, ACT, or CLT test scores by the deadline.

3. Have test scores sent directly to FIU at the time of registration.

• ACT: October 18, 2025

• CLT: September 22, 2025

• SAT: October 4, 2025

Florida International University (FIU) Fall 2026 Intake: Eligibility Criteria

• Must be an admitted FTIC student for Early Fall/Fall 2026.

• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, or an international student intending to receive an F-1 visa (or another eligible visa) to study in the United States.

• Merit scholarship consideration is based on academic records used for admission and residency status.

• No separate application is needed—consideration is automatic.

• Scholarship funding is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.

• Both First Year and Transfer students may be eligible.
