French Government (France Excellence) Scholarship Program 2025 Overview

The French Embassy in Ghana offers the SSHN (Séjours Scientifiques de Haut Niveau) under the “France Excellence” programme. This opportunity supports Ghanaian academic and research staff to conduct short-term research in French institutions, with the goal of enhancing personal expertise and strengthening scientific cooperation between Ghana and France.

French Government (France Excellence) Scholarship Program 2025 Eligibility

• Must be a PhD holder or current PhD student

• Must have a tenure-track or permanent position in a public or private higher education or research institution

• Must not hold dual nationality with an EU country

• “Young researchers”: PhD obtained within 5 years

• “Confirmed researchers”: PhD obtained over 5 years ago

• Round-trip air ticket

• Monthly allowance

• Health and repatriation insurance

• Research mobility must take place between 1st September and 15th December 2025
