Fulbright Foreign Student Program 2025: Eligibility

  • Must be a citizen of a country participating in the Fulbright Program.

  • Open to graduate students, early-career professionals, and artists.

  • Specific requirements, eligible fields of study, and deadlines vary by country (check your local Fulbright office or U.S. Embassy).

  • If your country is not listed in the official Fulbright dropdown list, you are not eligible to apply.

  • Provide academic transcripts, CV, personal statement, research proposal (if applicable), and reference letters.

  • Meet the English language proficiency requirements (TOEFL/IELTS may be required).

  • Additional materials as requested by your local Fulbright office.

  • Strong academic record and leadership potential.

  • Clear study/research objectives that align with the Fulbright mission.

  • Commitment to cultural exchange and community engagement.

  • Ability to serve as a Fulbright ambassador during and after the program.

Application Process

  1. Visit the official Fulbright website and select your country from the dropdown menu to view your specific eligibility, deadlines, and process.

  2. Prepare and submit all required documents to your local Fulbright office or U.S. Embassy.

  3. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview.

  4. If selected, you will either be placed in a U.S. university via the IIE-Placement model or proceed with your own Self-Placement process.
